Drama and excitement unfolded at Premier Speedway during Round 1 of the Welsh’s Garage Doors & Gates 360-LS Sprintcar Track Championship, presented by Dirt X Ind, alongside the prestigious 2024 Jack Willsher Cup. The Sprintcar feature race was marked by multiple stoppages before a consistent run of laps set up an epic 10-lap showdown to the end. Home-track favourite Jamie Veal delivered a masterclass performance, chasing down the win in true Veal fashion. Rusty Hickman, who had led for all but the last two laps, was forced to settle for second place. Fresh off a much talked about & successful Adelaide 500, Brett Milburn claimed third, while young talents Parker Scott and Harry Ross rounded out the top five.

Jamie Veal is in stellar form this Victorian season with two wins and a podium in three races so far with Avalon Raceway being his apparent playground. Young ace Jordan Charge however bounced back from a disastrous Avalon opening meeting where engine issues ended his night early, to share the feature front row with fellow “kid” Todd Moule, This was an important moment in the sport with a couple of young gassers blocking out the front row.
